Awarded to a distinguished science fiction or fantasy book written by a Pacific Northwest author or authors. Awarded annually at Orycon. Created to honor works in science fiction, fantasy and horror which include positive explorations of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered characters, themes, or issues. The Geffen Awards are presented by the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and are named after the late Amos Geffen, one of the first editors and translators of sci-fi in Israel. Awards for excellence in children's science fiction literature, including awards in the following categories: Picture Book; the Eleanor Cameron Award for Middle Grades; the Hal Clement Award for Young Adults; and Special Awards. The Hugo Awards, given annually since 1955, are science fiction’s most prestigious award. The Hugos are voted on by the thousands of members of the current Worldcon which is also responsible for administering them. International Horror Guild Awards Based on public recommendations, these juried awards recognize outstanding achievements in the field of Horror and Dark Fantasy.
