The Saturn Award is the official honor presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films Comprehensive site with daily posts about science fiction and fantasy industry awards. Designed to honor accomplishment in science fiction, fantasy or horror to individuals born or living in the Southeastern United States. The SESFA is administered by the online science fiction magazine scifidimensions. Presented by the Speculative Literature Foundation, the Fountain Award is given annually to a speculative short story of exceptional literary quality. The award is judged by a select jury, and chosen from work nominated by magazine and anthology editors. The Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic is a juried award based on excellence of writing in two categories: adult and young adult. The awards are presented annually to Canadian writers with a speculative fiction novel or book-length collection of speculative fiction published any time during the previous calendar year. Established in 1983 by L. Ron Hubbard expressly for the aspiring writer, the Writers of the Future award is given to new, unpublished writers of short stories or novelettes. Stories from the yearly winners selected from around the world are published in the annual Writers of the Future anthology. |
