The first issue of Serendipity, a new publication from Ben Coppin, the publisher of the recently folded Darker Matter, has been released. It contains articles by Rhys Hughes, Aliya Whiteley, Jeffrey Ford, and Catherynne M. Valente. There is even a piece called "Some Particulars Concerning a Lion" by Charles Dickens.

The issue also includes book reviews, an essay on magical realism by Rebecca Davies, and an interview with David Mitchell.

According to editor Neil Ayres in his editorial, "Our initial intention with Serendipity is to publish around 10,000 words of high quality light fantasy and magical realist fiction, as well as related interviews, essays and book reviews on the fourteenth day of each month."
